Stress of working women highest in Ludhiana

According to one survey by assocham when compared with working women in Ludhiana,Kolkata and Pune, those in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi suffer less mental harassment, survay sponsored by National Commission for Women (NCW).

Survey findings reveal that mental harassment for women employees is reported least in Bangalore (6%), followed by Chennai (7%), Hyderabad (8%), Mum

Ludhiana, Kolkata and Pune are the industrial hubs in which, the harassment of women employees has been reported at 27%, 19% and 17% respectively.

Mental harassment is faced more by of small-scale firms employees (21%); it is least in case of large-scale firms (8%) and moderate in medium-scale firms (14%). Also no Stress Management training is provided in small and medium scale firm.

According to survey findings also throw light on employer satisfaction level among women employees. Of the 272 women employees respondants in the above cities, 85.15% are satisfied with their employers’ attitude towards them.

Respondants from Ludhiana(54%) and Pune(76%) were found to be least satisfied with their employers. Level of satisfaction on the basis of size of the firm indicate that large scale firms are on better grounds from all points of consideration.
